Music Program @ Imhotep Academy

Research has found that learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas.

Making music involves more than the voice or fingers playing an instrument; a child learning about music has to tap into multiple skill sets, often simultaneously. For instance, people use their ears and eyes, as well as large and small muscles.

At Imhotep Academy we are hoping to enhance learning through the new mandatory music program.   Twice, weekly, the students will study music technology and production, instrumental performance, techniques for Jazz collaboration, and music theory.

The M3 Music Academy

Instruction – This program provides student artists with the core music concepts of reading music, composing, performing, music social studies and the relation of mathematics to music.

Technology – Students will learn the impact of technology on the music industry. They will learn what it takes to produce “tracks”/”beats”, what is necessary to produce a CD project, directing/producing music videos and even some aspects of graphic design.

Business – Students will learn about the necessary business skills to have a financially successful career in the music industry.
